Job summary

Invercargill City Council is seeking a Senior Contract Management Specialist to bring commercial rigour to high-value contracts and strengthen contract management capability across the organisation.

Reporting to the Manager – Procurement and Contracts, you will coach managers, lead complex negotiations, and develop governance, templates and practices to lift capability and ensure value for ratepayers.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on experience with complex, high-value contracts in real-world settings.
• Ability to align commercial positions with operational realities and strategy.
• Experience coaching managers to become more commercially confident.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support complex commercial negotiations across the contract lifecycle.
• Advise on contract structures, pricing, risk allocation and major variations.
• Strengthen commercial governance, guidelines and templates.
• Coach contract owners to improve performance and value delivery.
