Job summary

iPayroll is seeking a dynamic DevOps Lead to own AWS infrastructure, drive cost optimisation, security, and production readiness. You will lead a busy DevOps team, mentor engineers and advance our IaC platform while automating deployments and configurations.

You will collaborate with development to ensure observability, security, high availability and incident readiness across NZ-based cloud services.

Qualifications

• Advanced AWS skills across EC2, RDS, S3, ECS/Fargate, Lambda
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools (CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform)
• Linux administration and networking fundamentals
• Secure systems design and security best practices
• Experience with Git-based source control (GitLab, GitHub) and CI systems (Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
• Observability via dashboards, logs, and alerts

Responsibilities

• Own enhancement, cost optimisation, security and troubleshooting of AWS infrastructure
• Lead and mentor DevOps team, manage pipeline of work
• Develop, enhance and maintain infrastructure as code platform
• Automate infrastructure, deployments and configuration pipelines to production
• Collaborate with developers to ensure observability, security and high availability
• Conduct capacity planning, vulnerability management and incident response participation
