About the Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding technology firm, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Cloud Network Engineer to join their fully remote engineering team. This role is critical for designing, implementing, and managing robust and scalable network infrastructure within leading cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). You will be responsible for ensuring the high availability, performance, and security of our cloud-based networks, which underpin our innovative digital services. Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage secure and highly available network infrastructure in AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
• Implement and maintain virtual private clouds (VPCs), subnets, routing, and network security groups.
• Configure and manage VPNs, direct connects, and other secure connectivity solutions.
• Optimize cloud network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and perform root cause analysis.
• Implement and manage network security best practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, and WAFs.
• Automate network provisioning and management tasks using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to support application deployments and ensure network requirements are met.
• Monitor network health and performance using cloud-native and third-party tools.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud networking technologies and services.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in network engineering, with at least 4 years focused on cloud networking.
• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS networking services (VPC, Route 53, ELB, Direct Connect) or Azure networking services (VNet, Load Balancer, ExpressRoute).
• Proficiency with network protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, and DNS.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices in cloud environments.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, essential for a fully remote team.
• Experience with container networking (e.g., Kubernetes networking) is a plus.
• Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Advanced Networking, Azure Network Engineer Associate) are highly desirable.
