Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proficient Structural Design Engineer to join its fully remote team in New Zealand. You will develop robust structural solutions for buildings and infrastructure, ensuring safety, stability, and code compliance in a collaborative virtual environment.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Structural), 5+ years of design experience, and proficiency with ETABS, SAP2000, and Prokon. PE registration is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural specialization.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in structural design.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration or eligibility preferred.
• Proficiency in ETABS, SAP2000, and Prokon.
• Strong understanding of building codes (SANS) and material behavior.
• Excellent communication and collaboration for remote teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure using advanced engineering principles and software.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications compliant with relevant codes and standards.
• Collaborate with architects, project managers, and other engineers in a virtual setting to achieve design outcomes.
• Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs from construction teams during fabrication and erection phases.
• Conduct site inspections and provide construction support, potentially via remote tools or site visits.
• Stay current with advancements in structural engineering materials, techniques, and software.
