Job summary

ASB Bank is seeking a Software Specialist to join the Core Integration squad, focusing on API platforms that underpin critical services across the bank. You will work across platform engineering, automation, and production support to keep APIs secure, reliable and performant.

You'll contribute across the full platform lifecycle, including API development, CI/CD automation, observability and server management.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with C# and modern .NET development.
• Experience developing and supporting API-based solutions.
• Proven DevOps experience including CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Strong PowerShell scripting capability.
• Experience working with Azure DevOps, GitHub or similar source control platforms.
• Experience supporting production systems and operational environments.
• Experience creating or maintaining monitoring and observability solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Software Specialist - API Platform

We're looking for a Software Specialist to join our Core Integration squad, helping support and evolve the API platforms that underpin key services across the bank. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the technology they own. You'll work across platform engineering, automation, operational support and software development, helping ensure critical services remain secure, stable and performing at their best.

About The Team

The Core Integration squad is responsible for the platforms and services that enable systems across ASB to communicate reliably and securely. Working in a collaborative environment, the team balances platform ownership, operational excellence and continuous improvement. The work is varied, covering everything from platform support and vulnerability remediation through to automation, observability and software development.

About The Role

This role focuses primarily on ASB's API platform while supporting middleware and BizTalk services where required. You'll contribute across the full platform lifecycle, including API development, platform operations, CI/CD, automation, observability, server management and production support. You'll help improve the reliability and maintainability of critical services while contributing to ongoing platform enhancements. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys solving technical problems, improving operational efficiency and taking ownership of the platforms they support.

You're a hands-on engineer who enjoys working across both development and operations. You like understanding how platforms work, identifying opportunities for improvement and using automation to reduce manual effort. You'll bring strong troubleshooting skills, a practical mindset and a genuine interest in building reliable services. You're comfortable working independently, collaborating with others and taking ownership of technical outcomes.
