Job summary

ASB Bank is seeking a Senior Integration Engineer to join the Core Integration squad in Auckland. The role focuses on WCF-based integration services, API and BizTalk support, and enhancements across core banking integrations. It combines hands-on development with operational support, CI/CD, and automation.

You will work across production support and platform ownership, contributing to reliable services and secure, scalable integrations for critical banking systems.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with C# and .NET development.
• Experience developing and supporting WCF services.
• Experience working with SOAP and REST-based integrations.
• Proven DevOps experience including CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Experience working with Azure DevOps, GitHub or similar tooling.
• Experience supporting production systems and operational environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability.

Software Specialist - Integration Services

Help maintain and evolve the integration services that connect critical banking systems

Reliable integration services are essential to how information moves across ASB. They enable systems to communicate, support customer-facing experiences and help ensure critical business processes run smoothly every day.

We're looking for a Software Specialist to join our Core Integration squad, supporting a suite of integration services that play an important role across the bank.

This role combines software development, operational support, automation and platform ownership. It's a great opportunity for somebody who enjoys working with established integration technologies, solving complex technical problems and helping keep critical services performing at their best.

About the Team

The Core Integration squad is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the integration services that support a wide range of technology platforms and business functions across ASB.

The team works across service support, platform operations, automation and ongoing enhancements, helping ensure integration services remain secure, reliable and fit for purpose as business needs continue to evolve.

About the Role

This role focuses primarily on Integration Services, including WCF-based services and related integrations, while also supporting API and BizTalk services where required.

The work spans production support, service maintenance, CI/CD, automation and ongoing enhancement of existing integration capabilities. Over time, you'll also contribute to changes required to support evolving business and technology initiatives across the bank.

This is a hands-on role that would suit an engineer who enjoys understanding complex systems, improving service reliability and working across both development and operational activities.

You're a technically curious engineer who enjoys working through complex integration challenges and understanding how systems interact.

You'll bring a strong foundation in C# development, enjoy troubleshooting technical issues and be comfortable working across both software engineering and operational support.
