Job summary

Tower Insurance in Auckland is looking for a senior data analytics lead to partner across the business, investigate complex issues, and drive remediation analytics using SQL, Snowflake and Power BI.

In the first 6–12 months you’ll deliver major analytics workstreams, build trusted stakeholder relationships, and produce accurate dashboards and data extracts to support informed decisions and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years in data and analytics roles with SQL and BI tools.
  • Strong data storytelling and ability to translate insights for non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with remediation analytics and regulatory reporting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead remediation analytics workstreams, delivering milestones on time.
  • Develop dashboards and data extracts to support decision making and audits.
  • Partner with stakeholders and technical teams to implement repeatable analytics solutions.

Your day-to-day would look like:
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to investigate complex issues, analyse data, and identify effective remediation solutions.
  • Lead and coordinate remediation initiatives, ensuring actions are delivered on time, risks are managed, and regulatory obligations are met.
  • Monitor remediation progress, provide insights and reporting, and drive continuous improvement to deliver sustainable business outcomes and customer value.
In your first 6-12 months, success will look like:
  • Successfully leading and delivering key remediation analytics workstreams, ensuring milestones are achieved on time and to a high standard.
  • Establishing trusted partnerships with business stakeholders, SMEs, and technical teams, becoming the go-to expert for analytics within remediation initiatives.
  • Delivering accurate, insightful reporting, dashboards, and data extracts that support informed decision-making and meet audit and regulatory requirements.
  • Implementing repeatable and sustainable analytical solutions that reduce manual effort and can be embedded into business-as-usual operations.
  • Improving the efficiency and quality of remediation delivery by translating complex business requirements into actionable data-driven solutions.
  • Driving innovation and continuous improvement by identifying new opportunities, leveraging modern data platforms and tools, and promoting best-practice analytics across the organisation.
To thrive in this role, you'll need:
  • Have at least five years’ experience in Data and analytics specific roles using SQL, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric and Power BI or similar tool.
  • Have a proven track record of data storytelling and exposure to POWER BI copilot (Usage of Natural language queries)
  • An understanding of the general insurance or financial services market would be beneficial.
  • Experience in Data Analytics using Power BI including Microsoft Fabric, dimensional models and complex DAX and visualisations.
  • Ability to communicate insights from a dataset using narratives and effective data storytelling.
  • Comprehensive experience in data analysis and visualisations, with an understanding of data engineering to ensure outputs are accurate and relevant.
  • Ability to create insightful dashboards, self-service dashboards, and diagnostic analytics.
  • Exposure to GA/GTM, Python / R and advanced analytics is desirable
  • Prior exposure to Microsoft Fabric Ontology, Snowflake Intelligence / Cortex is considered advantageous.
