Job summary

MAS is expanding its Data & Analytics capability and is recruiting for a 12-month fixed-term Insights Analyst based in our Wellington Office. You will analyse data to identify trends, develop dashboards and reporting, and present clear insights to support informed decisions across the organisation.

We value strong Power BI and SQL skills, experience with complex datasets, and the ability to translate data into practical recommendations for stakeholders across multiple business areas.

Qualifications

• Experience in an Insights Analyst or data-focused role.
• Strong Power BI and SQL capabilities.
• Experience with complex datasets.
• Knowledge of Python or R is advantageous.
• Ability to translate data into insights and recommendations.

Responsibilities

We're growing our Data & Analytics capability and are currently recruiting for one 12-Month Fixed-Term Insights Analyst Position.

This role will be based in our Wellington Office. This position sits within our Innovation & Digital team and offers the opportunity to work closely with stakeholders across the business to transform data into meaningful insights that support better decision-making and improved Member outcomes.

About the role

As an Insights Analyst, you'll analyse data, identify trends and opportunities, develop reporting and visualisation solutions, and help business leaders make informed decisions through clear, actionable insights. You'll work across a wide range of business areas, building strong stakeholder relationships and helping grow confidence in data throughout the organisation.

What you'll be doing

• Analysing data to identify trends, patterns, risks and opportunities.
• Developing dashboards, reports and visualisations using tools such as Power BI.
• Working with stakeholders to understand business questions and reporting needs.
• Translating complex data into meaningful insights and recommendations.
• Supporting data quality, governance and reporting processes.
• Contributing to automated reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Presenting findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

About you

You'll be a naturally curious and analytical thinker who enjoys solving problems and helping others make informed decisions through data. You'll have strong communication skills and enjoy partnering with stakeholders across the organisation.

We're interested in hearing from people who have:

• Experience in an Insights Analyst, Data Analyst or similar role.
• Strong Power BI and SQL capability.
• Experience working with complex datasets.
• Knowledge of Python or R (advantageous).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience developing dashboards, reporting and business insights.
• The ability to communicate technical concepts in a clear and practical way.
