Job summary

AA Insurance in Auckland is seeking a Data Service Delivery Manager to ensure reliability of critical data services and to lead incident and problem management, collaborating with internal teams and strategic partners, including Suncorp, to shape the Data 2030 roadmap.

You will own data service performance, drive governance, and partner with Data, Technology, and vendors to improve outcomes and minimize business disruption.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in Service Delivery Management or similar.
• Experience in data-focused environments (analytics, reporting, data warehousing, governance, or stewardship).
• Proven incident management experience and service restoration skills.
• Strong stakeholder management across internal teams and vendors.
• Working knowledge of ServiceNow and Jira; strong service management practices.
• Understanding of data warehouses, pipelines, BI, reporting and data quality controls.
• Excellent communication and proactive, customer-focused approach.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in IT or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Owning and improving the performance of data services, including service reporting, SLAs, and dashboards.
• Leading end-to-end management of data incidents and coordinating teams and partners.
• Driving problem management to identify root causes and reduce recurring incidents.

About the Role

As our Data Service Delivery Manager, you'll be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of critical data services across AA Insurance. Working closely with internal teams and strategic partners, including Suncorp, you'll lead incident and problem management, strengthen service governance, and help shape the future state of our data service operating model. You'll play a key role in delivering a trusted and unified data service that supports business decision-making and key strategic initiatives, including the Data 2030 roadmap.

What You'll Be Doing

• Owning and improving the performance of data services, including service reporting, SLAs, and operational dashboards.
• Leading the end-to-end management of data incidents, coordinating internal teams and external partners to ensure timely resolution and minimise business disruption.
• Driving problem management initiatives to identify root causes, reduce recurring incidents, and improve long-term service stability.
• Building strong partnerships across Data, Technology, business teams and strategic vendors to improve service outcomes and manage dependencies effectively.
• Applying a data-centric lens to service delivery, understanding data quality, reporting dependencies, governance, and business impacts.
• Supporting the evolution of data service processes, controls, and operating frameworks as we mature our data capabilities and roadmap.

A Bit About You

• 5+ years' experience in Service Delivery Management, Incident Management, or a similar role.
• Experience working in data-focused environments such as analytics, reporting, data warehousing, governance, or stewardship.
• Proven experience managing critical incidents and driving service restoration activities.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working across internal teams, vendors, and complex supplier relationships.
• Working knowledge of ServiceNow, Jira, and service management practices.
• Understanding of data warehouses, data pipelines, business intelligence, reporting, and data quality controls.
• Demonstrated ability to identify risks, anticipate issues, and implement improvements that enhance service reliability and reduce incidents.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, customer-focused approach.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in IT or a related discipline.
