Job summary

Placements24 seeks a meticulous Senior Analytical Chemist to lead pharmaceutical analysis in Queenstown. You will develop, validate, and implement analytical methods ensuring product quality, safety, and efficacy, working with advanced instrumentation and supporting regulatory submissions.

Required: PhD or MSc in Analytical Chemistry or related field, 5+ years in pharma analytics, hands-on HPLC/GC/MS, and strong regulatory/compliance knowledge along with clear communication skills.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in analytical chemistry within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Hands-on experience with HPLC, GC, UV-Vis and Mass Spectrometry.
• Strong understanding of method validation principles and regulatory compliance (ICH/FDA).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate analytical methods for raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, and MS.
• Perform routine and non-routine analysis following GMP guidelines.
• Troubleshoot analytical instrumentation and method-related issues.
• Prepare technical reports, method validation protocols, and transfer documentation.
• Stay updated with regulatory requirements and advancements in pharmaceutical analysis.
• Mentor and train junior analytical chemists on techniques and GMP practices.
