Job summary

The Financial Markets Authority (FMA) is seeking a Principal Adviser, Banking (Deposit Taking) in Auckland to shape how conduct regulation comes to life across Aotearoa’s deposit-taking sector. You will provide technical leadership and guidance to ensure fair treatment of consumers and robust supervision of banks and deposit-takers.

• Strong experience in conduct regulation, supervision, risk, compliance, audit or the broader financial services sector.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible, enthusiastic technical leadership within the Deposit Taking team.
• Lead thinking on emerging conduct risks and supervise new engagements.
• Draft and operationalise our supervision approach with support from leadership.
• Mentor and coach Deposit Taking team members to build capability.
• Build strong relationships with industry participants and regulators.
• Use data and insights to improve supervision processes and tools.
