Job summary

Financial Markets Authority – Te Mana Tātai Hokohoko in Auckland seeks a Senior Adviser, Investment Management to regulate and supervise NZ's investment management sector, including KiwiSaver, DIMS, and derivatives issuers. You will analyze complex issues and provide evidence-based advice to support regulatory action.

You’ll develop technical expertise and contribute to supervisory activities across planned and reactive matters, ensuring market integrity and better investor outcomes.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of investment management and KiwiSaver schemes.
• Experience in regulatory, risk, or professional services contexts is advantageous.
• Ability to evaluate complex issues and form evidence-based conclusions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise investment management participants across funds, including DI/DIMS and related entities.
• Undertake detailed analysis of regulatory and conduct issues, ensuring conclusions are evidence-based.
• Respond to reactive matters, including potential breaches of regulatory obligations.
• Provide high-quality advice, correspondence, and decision material to support regulatory action.
• Produce public guidance and research to improve investor outcomes.
• Contribute to improvements in product design, disclosure, and integrity across the sector.
