Job summary

seek.co.nz partners with an award-winning CA practice in South Auckland to appoint a Qualified Accountant/BAS Manager at an immediate level. You will lead daily operations, support bookkeeping and advisory services, and optimise processes and resources to deliver high-quality client service.

The role emphasizes strong organisation, staff supervision, budgeting and compliance, with a commitment to culturally inclusive service for Maori and Pasifika businesses.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in practice management or business operations within accounting or professional services
• Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
• Experience with bookkeeping and small practice accounting operations is desirable
• Experience in budgeting and monitoring financial performance

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee daily operational activities of the accounting practice
• Develop, implement and maintain operational processes to enhance productivity
• Supervise and coach support staff with training and performance feedback
• Monitor financial performance including budgets and timesheets
• Maintain and optimise practice management systems and technology infrastructure
• Ensure compliance with regulations and quality control requirements
• Manage client and staff communications and respond to inquiries
• Coordinate with accounting team to support service delivery
• Oversee office administration including scheduling, facilities and vendor relations
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimisation
