Job summary

The Andersen Partnership in Auckland seeks a Senior Accountant to own client relationships and review work beyond core compliance. You will manage financial statements, tax returns, and GST for diverse clients, while mentoring junior staff and liaising with clients on complex matters.

CA ANZ qualification or progress toward completion is expected. The role offers a clear path toward Manager with study support and flexible working arrangements.

We're recruiting for a Senior Accountant to join a public practice firm in Auckland. This is a hands-on role for someone who has moved past pure compliance and wants more ownership over client relationships, review work and technical problem-solving across a varied client base.

What You'll Be Doing

• Managing a portfolio of clients across financial statements, income tax returns and GST compliance
• Preparing and reviewing tax returns for individuals, trusts, companies and partnerships
• Reviewing work prepared by Intermediates and Graduates, and supporting their technical development
• Liaising directly with clients on their affairs, including more complex tax and structuring queries
• Working closely with Managers and Partners on larger or more technical client matters
• Contributing to client meetings and building your own relationships within the portfolio

What You'll Bring

• CA qualified (CA ANZ), or working towards completion
• Strong public practice experience, with confidence to review others' work
• Strong technical accounting and tax fundamentals
• Experience across a range of client entities (individuals, trusts, companies)
• Comfortable working directly with clients, not just behind the scenes
• Genuine interest in progressing toward a Manager role
