Job summary

Consult Recruitment is seeking a Senior Auditor in Auckland to lead audit engagements, build client relationships and support junior team members. You’ll manage day-to-day delivery of audits, coordinate with clients and your team, and ensure work stays on track and on budget.

• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Excel and experience using audit software.

• Assess financial statements, supporting records and internal processes.
• Prepare clear audit documentation and draw conclusions supported by evidence.
• Coordinate audit files and monitor progress against deadlines and budgets.
• Coach junior team members and review their work.
• Build client relationships and resolve queries throughout engagements.
• Identify ways to improve audit processes and recognise where clients may need additional support.

This role combines hands-on audit work, client interaction and supporting junior colleagues. You’ll work closely with senior team members to deliver quality engagements and help clients understand financial reporting and audit matters.

About the role

You’ll manage the day-to-day delivery of audit assignments, keeping work on track and maintaining clear communication with clients and your team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and completing audit work, identifying key risks and designing appropriate audit procedures.

About you

You bring external audit experience, sound technical knowledge and a practical approach to solving problems. You’re comfortable taking responsibility for your work and enjoy helping others develop.

You’ll ideally have:

• At least two years of external audit experience within an accounting practice.
• A relevant degree and a CA or CPA qualification, or be nearing completion.
• A working knowledge of applicable financial reporting and auditing standards.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and professional judgement.
• Confidence communicating with clients and colleagues.
