Security Officer - Night ShiftInformation and Infrastructure | Enabling Services We're looking for a professional, reliable and approachable Security Officer to join our team at the Museum of New Zealand, Te Papa Tongarewa. Working as part of a dedicated security team, you'll help protect Te Papa's people, buildings, and collections while providing a welcoming and responsive service to our visitors and colleagues. This is a night-shift role that operates from 7.00pm to 7.00am (12-hour shifts), ensuring a safe and secure environment across the museum. You'll have strong working relationships with colleagues and be confident working independently and as part of a team, responding effectively to security matters and following established procedures to a high standard. Everyday you'll work in a way that reflects manaakitanga (care and respect), builds whanaungatanga (strong relationships), and encourages auahatanga (creativity).
Success in this role means ensuring Te Papa remains a safe, secure and welcoming environment. You'll maintain a high level of professionalism, vigilance and integrity throughout your shift, working proactively and responding calmly to security matters, ensuring procedures are consistently followed to protect our people, buildings and collections.
This is a full-time position, 12-hour shifts between the hours of 7:0 PM - 7:0 AM (four days on - four days off) based at Te Papa Tongarewa, Cable Street Wellington.
Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand. Pre-employment checks will be undertaken prior to any offer of employment, including reference checking, NZ police vetting and a pre-employment medical assessment.
The starting salary for this position will be between $60,218 - $62,811 per annum with further room for progression through the band. Offers will be made within this range based on skills, experience and internal relativities.
