Job summary

Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa is seeking a Security Officer for the night shift to safeguard staff, visitors and the collections. You will work independently and as part of a security team, delivering a high standard of service and maintaining a welcoming environment.

Your role involves patrols, incident response, and following established procedures with a focus on manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, and auahatanga.

Qualifications

• Previous security-related experience or in a customer-focused role.
• Strong observation and situational awareness.
• Valid COA and a clean NZ Class 1 licence are required.
• Commitment to health, safety and visitor service.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient and approachable security service during night shift.
• Conduct patrols and respond to risks, incidents or emergencies per policies.
• Monitor and report security issues, hazards and incidents promptly.
• Coordinate with On-Call Senior Security Officer or Manager Security Services and follow SOPs.
