Qualifications

• NZ Security COA certification is required.
• Mandatory training during probation covers licensing and safety protocols.
• Ability to operate across Christchurch and Ashburton sites.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and professionalism across static, bar, retail and crowd control.
• Conduct security patrols and respond to alarms or incidents.
• Enforce liquor licensing and host responsibility policies.
• Document incidents and monitor CCTV and emergency equipment.
• Provide assistance and basic first aid when needed.

Security Officer – Aptitude Security

Aptitude Security is seeking dedicated Security Officers to join our operational team in Christchurch & Ashburton. This role provides flexible permanent casual shifts, competitive remuneration, and clear pathways for career progression across local commercial and hospitality sites.

Join our team as a Security Officer and play a key role in maintaining safety and professionalism across a variety of service areas:

• Service Areas:
• Static Security
• Bar Security
• Retail Security
• Crowd Control
• Security Patrols

• NZ Security Licensing & Legal Offences
• Control & Restraint Procedures
• Substance Awareness
• Company Policies & Procedures
• Fire Safety Protocols

Upon completion, you’ll be prepared to work closely with our Assistant Security Manager and Security Manager to advance your career.

• Enforcing liquor licensing and host responsibility policies
• Verifying customer identification (e.g., passport, driver’s license)
• Monitoring CCTV, alarm systems, and emergency equipment
• Responding to alarms and assessing situations
• Documenting incidents and suspicious behaviour
• Identifying signs of substance influence
• De-escalating conflicts and restraining individuals when necessary
• Providing assistance and administering first aid or CPR
• Adhering to company policies and procedures
• Weekly structured operational training sessions.
