Job summary

Suncrest Orchard in Cromwell, NZ, is seeking a hands-on Workshop Supervisor to lead our tyre workshop team. You’ll oversee all workshop activity, schedule technicians, manage stock, and ensure safety and quality standards are met.

This full-time, permanent role offers a competitive salary based on experience, continual training, and staff discounts on tires and services. You’ll stay hands-on during peak periods and mentor junior staff to uphold our reliable service.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in a tyre workshop, commercial service centre or similar role.
• Practical knowledge across tyres, wheels, balancing and alignments.
• Experience leading or supervising a small team.
• Clear communication and good customer service.
• Calm under pressure, good problem-solver.
• Strong focus on workplace safety.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule and support workshop technicians.
• Oversee tire fitting, wheel balancing and wheel alignment work.
• Ensure all work meets industry standards and safety requirements.
• Manage customer enquiries, updates and resolution of issues.
• Monitor and maintain tire, parts and consumable stock levels.
• Enforce all health and safety policies and keep the workshop tidy and compliant.
• Manage daily workflow and minimise downtime.
• Train and mentor team members.
• Report to the Manager on operations, performance and stock needs.
• Step in and work on the floor during busy periods.

We supply, fit and maintain passenger, 4x4, light commercial, truck, agricultural and off-road tires, plus wheels and wheel alignments and balancing. We’re known for solid workmanship, reliable service and looking after our customers and team.

Role Overview

You’ll oversee all workshop activity, lead and schedule the technicians, maintain quality standards, manage stock, and keep customers happy. You’ll be hands‑on, lead by example, and keep the workshop safe, tidy and productive.
