Job summary

Cromwell General Tyres in Otago is seeking a hands-on Workshop Supervisor to oversee all workshop activity, lead technicians, maintain quality standards and stock, and keep customers happy. You will train staff, ensure safety compliance, and step in on the floor during busy periods.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in a tyre workshop, commercial service centre or similar role.
• Experience leading or supervising a small team.
• Clear communication and good customer service.
• Strong focus on workplace safety.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule and support workshop technicians.
• Oversee tire fitting, wheel balancing and wheel alignment work.
• Ensure all work meets industry standards and safety requirements.
• Manage customer enquiries, updates and resolution of issues.
• Monitor and maintain tire, parts and consumable stock levels.
• Enforce all health and safety policies and keep the workshop tidy and compliant.
• Manage daily workflow and minimise downtime.
• Train and mentor team members.
• Report to the Manager on operations, performance and stock needs.
• Step in and work on the floor during busy periods.
