Job summary

Cromwell General Tyres in Cromwell is seeking a hands-on Workshop Supervisor to oversee all workshop activity, lead technicians and ensure safety and quality. You will manage stock, mentor staff, and maintain productive operations while delivering excellent service to customers.

The role requires practical tyre industry experience, strong leadership, and a calm, solution-focused approach to daily workflow and customer inquiries.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in a tyre workshop or commercial service centre
• Experience leading a small team
• Clear communication and customer service
• Strong focus on workplace safety

Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule and support workshop technicians
• Oversee tire fitting, wheel balancing and alignments
• Ensure all work meets industry standards and safety requirements
• Manage customer enquiries, updates and resolutions
• Monitor and maintain stock levels of tires and consumables
• Enforce health and safety policies and keep the workshop tidy
• Manage daily workflow and minimise downtime
• Train and mentor team members
• Report to the Manager on operations, performance and stock needs
• Step in and work on the floor during busy periods

Employment Type: Full-time, permanent Hours: Monday- 8:00am-5:00pm; Saturday morning.

About Us: We are a well-established commercial tyre workshop based in Cromwell. We supply, fit and maintain passenger, 4x4, light commercial, truck, agricultural and off-road tires, plus wheels and wheel alignments and balancing. We're known for solid workmanship, reliable service and looking after our customers and team.

Role Overview

You'll oversee all workshop activity, lead and schedule the technicians, maintain quality standards, manage stock, and keep customers happy. You'll be hands-on, lead by example, and keep the workshop safe, tidy and productive.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule and support workshop technicians
• Oversee tire fitting, wheel balancing and wheel alignment work
