We are seeking 3 passionate, forward-thinking, and collaborative Scale A kaiako to join our team across various year levels.

About the role

We are looking for registered teachers who bring energy, creativity, and a strong commitment to learning. As a teacher at Karori Normal School, you will work within collaborative teaching spaces alongside supportive colleagues who value shared planning, dynamic learning environments, and strong professional connections.

Key requirements and selection criteria
  • Curriculum knowledge: Strong familiarity with the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum.
  • Collaborative practice: Demonstrated ability to thrive in a collaborative environment, sharing expertise and co-constructing engaging learning experiences for all tamariki.
  • Normal School engagement: Enthusiasm for supporting student teachers and hosting kaiako tauira, contributing positively to professional learning and mentoring, and being open to learning and coaching.
  • Culturally responsive: Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, integrating te reo and tikanga Māori naturally into classroom culture.
  • Student-centred: An inclusive approach that fosters student agency, well-being, and academic success.
