Job summary

LIC is seeking a driver for seasonal transport of Herd Test samples between Christchurch and Amberley. Reporting to the Herd Test Sample Transport Team Leader, you’ll work five days a week with evening starts from Oct 2026 to May 2027.

Ideal for someone looking for part-time hours or semi-retired status, you’ll need a Class 2 license, a clean driving record, and good record keeping and customer service skills. Computer skills are an advantage.

• Be physically fit (able to lift 20kg).
• Hold a valid Class 2 driver's license.
• Have an excellent driving record.
• Computer skills would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Transport Herd Test samples and goods between Christchurch and Amberley.
• Work five days a week with evening starts; seasonal Oct 2026–May 2027.
• Operate a truck run between Christchurch and Amberley.
• Collaborate with LIC teams and maintain accurate records.

This role is part of LIC's Operations & Services team, who deliver an essential animal health service to NZ farmers. Operations & Service is made up of LIC's Artificial Breeding, Diagnostics, Farms Management, FarmWise, Field Assist, Heifer Management and Herd Testing teams.

About The Role

Reporting to the Herd Test Sample Transport Team Leader, you will be responsible for the transportation of Herd Test samples, equipment and goods between Christchurch and Amberley.

The Role Involves

• Working 5 days a week, with cover days for another driver if needed.
• Evening starts
• This is a seasonal role from October 2026 – May 2027.
• Truck run between Christchurch and Amberley

The role would be ideal for someone who is looking for part-time hours, perhaps someone who is semi-retired.

With a 'can-do' attitude, you will be a self-motivated with excellent record keeping and customer service skills. You will also:
