Job summary

Livestock Improvement Corporation in New Zealand is seeking Herd Test Technicians to deliver and install testing equipment in dairy sheds across the Southland region. This is a fast-paced, outdoor role requiring strong time management and physical stamina to handle equipment daily.

You will return the next day to collect samples and oversee equipment, with flexibility around hours and locations within Southland.

About the Role:

Our Herd Test Technicians use LIC vehicles to deliver and install Herd Testing equipment in dairy sheds throughout the region. They then return the following day to collect the completed samples and equipment. This is a fast-paced role which requires excellent time management skills and physical strength as handling heavy equipment is a must.

Working in Winton region, this is a short-term role to cover the seasonal peak for around 9 months.The role will suit individuals who love being outdoors and have flexibility with their working hours.

About You:

To hit the ground running in this role, you will ideally know your way around a milking shed and have a reasonable level of fitness and physical strength. Other key attributes are:

  • A clean full Class 1 driver's licence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Being self-motivated, professional, and reliable.
  • Exceptional time management abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail.
