Job summary

Mercury is seeking a Salesforce Marketing Cloud specialist to join our Customer Platform Team in Auckland on a fixed-term parental leave cover for up to 13 months.

You will design and optimise customer journeys across channels, using AMPscript and multiple data sources, collaborating with stakeholders to deliver data-driven communications. This is a hands-on role with flexible working from Mercury’s premises and from home, offering growth within New Zealand’s largest multi-utility provider.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years’ hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
• Proven experience building multi-channel journeys and marketing automation.
• Strong AMPscript skills and experience building complex communications from multiple data sources.
• Self-starter mindset – able to work independently while being a team player.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Clear communication – able to explain technical topics to both technical and non-technical people.
• Collaborative approach with good time management.
• Business degree or equivalent in a relevant field is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Build, manage and optimise automated journeys across channels using Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
• Develop complex, personalised communications using AMPscript with multi-source data.
• Collaborate with the Customer Platform Team to reduce technical debt and maintain up-to-date documentation.
• Understand stakeholder needs to ensure solutions actually work for users.
• Identify improvements to journey performance and efficiency.
• Support and coach end users to maximise platform usage.
• Identify and resolve technical and functional issues as they arise.
• Participate in peer reviews, build checks and testing; learn other platforms.
