Refocus Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Sales Engineer – Industrial in Hawke's Bay to grow and support customers across the North Island. You will combine technical know-how with proactive selling to match VSDs, soft starters and power quality solutions to each site.

You'll mentor with an experienced team, enjoy a high-trust culture, and benefit from a company vehicle, phone and laptop as you travel one week in four and service customers locally in Hawke's Bay.

Qualifications

• Background as an industrial electrician, technician or in technical sales in the industrial electrical sector.
• Knowledge of VSDs, starters, motors or power quality is a real plus.
• Right attitude and willingness to learn; strong relationship-building skills.

Responsabilités

• Build and grow relationships with end users, OEMs, switchboard builders, integrators and contractors across the North Island.
• Find the right VSD, soft starter and power quality solutions for customers' applications.
• Visit sites, assess problems and turn them into practical solutions.
• Prepare quotes and follow opportunities through to orders.
• Collaborate with the wider team on support, commissioning and service.
• Travel about one week in four; the rest of the time youre based in Hawkes Bay.

From the tools or from sales, this role's built for both.

Our client is a specialist supplier of industrial power electronics: variable speed drives, soft starters and power quality solutions. Their kit keeps New Zealand's dairy factories, meat plants, water and wastewater sites, timber mills, mines and manufacturers running. They're a high-performing team that keeps growing year on year, even in the current economy. They're now adding a Sales Engineer to look after parts of the North Island, based in Hawke's Bay.

Electrician or sales professional? This role suits both.

Industrial electricians – Maybe you're on a maintenance or service team at a dairy, meat, water, timber, mining or manufacturing site. Or you're a switchboard builder or automation integrator. You already know drives and starters inside out, and you're the one people come to when something won't run. If you've thought about moving into sales without losing the technical side, this is your chance. You'll be mentored by the existing team, with extra support from the Head office.

Sales engineers and reps – Maybe you're with a drives or automation distributor, an electrical wholesaler, a motor or pump supplier, an OEM or a manufacturer's rep. You'll get a strong product range, a supportive team and a business that puts customers ahead of red tape.

The role

• Work closely with the wider team on support, commissioning and service

What you'll bring

• A background as an industrial electrician, technician or in technical sales in the industrial electrical sector
• Knowledge of VSDs, starters, motors or power quality (a real plus, but not essential)
• Most importantly: the right attitude and a genuine willingness to learn
• Good communication skills and the confidence to build relationships
• A current NZ driver's licence and the right to work in New Zealand
