Job summary

Event hospitality & entertainment Limited is seeking a Rooms Division Manager for one of New Zealand's largest hotels. Reporting directly to the Hotel Manager, you will lead Front Office, Housekeeping and Maintenance, driving service excellence, financial performance and a high‑performing team culture.

You will step into operational leadership of the hotel in the absence of the General Manager and Hotel Manager.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership across Front Office, Housekeeping or Rooms Division operations.
• Strong commercial acumen with budgets, labour costs and departmental performance.
• Experience in coaching and developing high-performing teams.
• Excellent guest service instincts and ability to manage VIP experiences under pressure.
• Current professional certifications such as Manager's Certificate and First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of Front Office, Housekeeping and Maintenance to ensure guest service and efficiency.
• Provide visible leadership across the hotel and act as Manager on Duty when required.
• Champion VIP, group and key guest arrivals and departures; own guest service recovery.
• Analyze Rooms Division financials: RevPAR, occupancy, average rate and payroll; prepare monthly reports.
• Manage budgets, rosters and productivity; collaborate with Revenue and Reservations to optimise room revenue.
• Lead, coach and develop teams; conduct performance reviews and training.
