Job summary

AA is seeking a motivated Service Officer to provide expert roadside assistance from a Rotorua-based position. You will diagnose faults, communicate clearly with Members, and work across a rotating roster seven days a week to support life’s journeys.

This role values problem-solving, a current NZ Driver Licence, and a Level 4 Automotive Trade Qualification, with opportunities to grow and progress within a trusted Kiwi brand.

Qualifications

• Level 4 Automotive Trade Qualification (or equivalent) and solid, recent automotive experience.
• Strong diagnostic skills to quickly assess issues and provide roadside solutions.
• Clean New Zealand Driver Licence and safe driving practices.
• Confidence with basic computer systems and in-vehicle technology to complete jobs and payments.
• Excellent communication and customer-service focus to represent AA professionally.
• Flexibility to work a rotating 7-day roster, including public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert roadside assistance to AA Members and diagnose vehicle issues.
• Respond to jobs dispatched by Contact Centre and Dispatch teams, manage workload.
• Explain faults and options clearly to Members and obtain approvals when needed.
• Process payments accurately using AA systems to ensure seamless service.
• Promote AA products and partner services where appropriate and useful.
• Maintain service vehicle, tools, and equipment and present a professional image.
• Work safely and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
