Job summary

George Grant Engineering (GGE) is seeking a skilled Rigger Welder to join our on-site erection team in Auckland. You will rig and weld structural steel components on high-profile commercial projects, interpreting drawings and adhering to safety protocols.

This role requires at least 5 years of experience, SiteSafe Passport, EWP, and Working at Heights certifications, and a proactive safety mindset. We offer competitive hourly rates and opportunities for upskilling within a strong team culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in structural steel erection and on-site welding.
• Current SiteSafe Passport, EWP, and Working at Heights certifications.
• Valid Welder Qualification Tickets (AS/NZS standards preferred).
• Fluent English communication (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Rig and position structural steel members on-site per erection sequences.
• Perform high-quality welds on-site per welding procedures.
• Interpret erection drawings and welding details accurately.
• Assist in crane lifting operations under site leadership.
• Maintain compliance with site safety protocols and GGE policies.
