Job summary

John Jones Steel in New Zealand seeks experienced riggers and decking staff to erect structural steel on various sites. Some projects may require long-term out-of-town work.

Applicants must have strong English communication, read structural drawings, and be physically fit with a commitment to safety and the environment. Height tickets and rigging licences are preferred but not essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years experience in steel erection.
• Able to read and interpret structural steel drawings for erection on site.
• Strong English communication and ability to take direction.
• Familiar with fixing and securing of structural steel elements per drawings.
• Knowledge of mobile crane operations and elevated work platforms.

Responsibilities

• Erect structural steel on various sites including long-term projects away from home.
• Read and interpret structural steel drawings on site.
• Undertake and record daily checks of machinery/equipment and report issues.
