Job summary

Oscar Wylee stores in New Zealand are seeking a Store Manager to lead a motivated team and deliver outstanding customer care. You will oversee day-to-day operations, work closely with our Optometrists and Optical Dispensers, and drive performance while maintaining exceptional in-store service.

The role emphasizes coaching, rosters, and a hands-on leadership style, with training provided to someone from outside the optical sector. Up to 63k salary plus growth opportunities across the network.

Job description

As Store Manager for Oscar Wylee in the Queensgate Shopping Centre, your role will be to lead and inspire your team to deliver remarkable results and oversee day-to-day store operations.

You will work closely with our Optometrists and Optical Dispensers to ensure customers receive a blend of professional eye care and eyewear styling advice. Leading your team, you will strive to uphold exceptional customer service and care to everyone who visits your store.

• Manage rosters, budgets, and labour efficiency
• Provide hands-on support in-store, assisting with sales, service, and patient care
• Partner with Optometrists to ensure every customer receives an exceptional experience

About You:

• Previous leadership experience in retail (title isn’t important - if you’ve coached people and driven results, we want to hear from you!)
• Experience supporting or contributing to rosters, labour planning, or store performance - we’ll help you grow your capability in these areas.
• A passion for delivering great customer experiences
• A keen interest in developing your skills in decision-making, coaching, and team culture
• No optical experience required - we’ll teach you all there is to know about optical retail. Some of our best store leaders joined from outside the industry!

Earnings:

Up to 63k salary
