Job summary

Hato Hone St John is seeking an experienced Retail Store Manager for our Ferry Road store in Christchurch. This permanent full-time role (40 hours/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 am–5:00 pm) centers on leading store operations, driving sales, and delivering outstanding community-focused service.

You will oversee stock, staffing, and campaigns while building strong relationships with local volunteers and customers, contributing to a welcoming, high-performing team environment.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of solid experience in retail management, visual merchandising and an interest in second-hand goods.
• Proven experience successfully managing a high-performing team.
• A highly motivated, proactive “can-do” attitude that drives you to identify and act on opportunities for improvement.
• A results-focused mindset, with a passion for success and achieving set targets.
• Ability to recruit, lead and motivate volunteers
• Great relationship building skills and strong community focus
• Be at least 18 years of age and have full eligibility to work in New Zealand.

Responsibilities

Are you an experienced retail manager with a genuine passion for community and a drive to achieve? We are searching for a dynamic leader to take charge of our vibrant Ferry Road store in Christchurch. This exciting Monday to Friday role offers plenty of variety and autonomy, providing you with the opportunity to make a real positive impact!

This role is permanent full time position, working 40 hours each week from 8:30 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday.
