Job summary

Hato Hone St John is seeking an experienced retail store manager for our Ferry Road store in Christchurch. The role is permanent, full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with autonomy and variety to drive community-focused outcomes.

You will oversee operations, sales, staff rostering, and promotional activities, while delivering excellent customer service and managing stock displays to support our local volunteers and the community.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of solid experience in retail management, visual merchandising and an interest in second-hand goods.
• Proven experience successfully managing a high-performing team.
• Motivated, proactive “can-do” attitude that drives improvement.
• Results-focused mindset with a passion for success and achieving targets.
• Ability to recruit, lead and motivate volunteers.
• Great relationship building skills and strong community focus.
• Be at least 18 years of age and have full eligibility to work in New Zealand.

We are searching for a dynamic leader to take charge of our vibrant Ferry Road store in Christchurch.
