Job summary

Woolworths New Zealand – Whakatāne, North Island invites applications for a Store Manager role. You’ll assume full responsibility for store performance and use your analytical skills to identify when changes are needed to improve profitability and customer service.

Lead a high performing team, coach staff to be passionate about products, and ensure a safe, welcoming shopping experience for our customers. Weekend availability is required to cover busy periods.

About the Role | Mō te Tūranga

With full responsibility for the stores performance you will need analytical skills that allow you to identify when change is needed. As a new Store Manager you can expect to:

• Lead your team in the driving of trade activity and profitability
• Coach your team to be passionate and knowledgeable about the products in your store
• Lead a high performing team in providing our customers with an excellent shopping experience
• Attract, select and train talented and passionate employees and develop succession plans

We are looking for our next Store Manager to have:

• Demonstrated Ability to manage a retail operation with commercial success.
• The ability to build, maintain, and influence stakeholder relationships
• An ability to illustrate a team first, customer first approach to business
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, wellbeing legislation and best practice
• The ability to work four weekend shifts consisting of at least 1 Saturday and 1 Sunday per month and at least one evening each week (until at least store closure)
