Job summary

Chemist Warehouse South Dunedin is seeking a motivated Full-Time Retail Manager to lead day-to-day store operations and a busy pharmacy team. You will focus on customer service, stock control, and process improvement to drive sales and customer satisfaction.

The role requires hands-on leadership with a focus on staff development, safety, and exemplary service in a fast-paced environment. NZ residency or valid work permit is required.

Qualifications

• Retail management experience in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
• Proven people management experience, ideally overseeing 15–25 staff.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Strong problem-solving with continuous improvement mindset.
• Tech-savvy with proficiency in using computer systems.
• Exceptional customer service, negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Managing day-to-day retail operations of the store
• Supervising and coordinating retail pharmacy staff and staffing activities
• Building and maintaining customer rapport and loyalty
• Improving the efficiency of store processes and procedures
• Addressing customer complaints as required
• Resolving staffing issues and stock discrepancies
• Ensuring organisational policies and procedures are followed and enforced
• Maintaining workplace Occupational Health and Safety
