Job summary

Salt is seeking a Retail Performance Analyst in Auckland to deliver accurate, timely reporting across retail performance, dealer activity, stock management, and market performance. The role is hands-on, data-driven, and focuses on reporting with monthly market and competition insights.

The position offers 12 months with annual renewal, 1 day work-from-home after training, and an office in Newmarket with free parking.

Qualifications

• 1-2+ years' experience in data analytics, reporting, or a data-focused role.
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables and X/VLOOKUPs).
• Exposure to Power BI and eagerness to learn AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver monthly reporting across market performance, retail, stock, and competitors.
• Analyse dealer network performance and identify trends and opportunities.
• Create dealer performance reports, scorecards, and review presentations.
• Monitor competitor activity, pricing, and market positioning.
• Conduct ad hoc data analysis and provide business recommendations.
• Support volume planning, forecasting, and stock analysis.

About the Role

$36 to $39 per hour + 8% holiday pay

Office based in Newmarket with FREE parking

12 month temporary contract (renewed annually) 1 day WFH after training period

As a Retail Performance Analyst you are responsible for delivering accurate, timely reporting and analysis that supports business decision‑making across retail performance, dealer activity, stock management, and market performance. This is a hands‑on, highly data‑driven role. Reporting is the core focus of the position, with responsibilities including monthly market reporting, competition reporting, dealer performance reporting, stock reporting, and ad hoc analysis.

Day to Day you will

• Prepare and deliver monthly reporting across market performance, retail, stock, and competitors.
• Analyse dealer network performance and identify trends and sales opportunities.
• Create dealer performance reports, scorecards, and review presentations.
• Monitor competitor activity, pricing, and market positioning.
• Conduct ad hoc data analysis and provide business recommendations.
• Support volume planning, forecasting, and stock analysis.

About You

You are someone who genuinely enjoys working with data and is looking to further develop your analytics career within a collaborative and high‑performing team.

1-2+ years' experience in data analytics, reporting, or a data-focused role.

Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables and X or VLOOKUPs essential)

Exposure to Power BI and a willingness to learn emerging technologies, including AI tools.

Passionate about data, with a love for digging deep into data sets to uncover insights and opportunities.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to translate data into meaningful business recommendations.

Highly detail-oriented, resilient, and able to perform under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
