Job summary

Cultivate – SEEK Medium Agency of the Year 2023 & 2024 is seeking an experienced finance professional for a contract role in Auckland. You will support forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting to inform business decisions and planning through to February 2027.

You'll turn data into actionable insights, partnering with senior leaders and operational teams to improve reporting quality and drive strategic funding decisions. Hybrid working arrangements are offered near K Road Station.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in commercial analysis or FP&A.
• Strong forecasting, modelling and scenario analysis skills.
• Experience creating management reports from complex datasets.
• Advanced Excel and Power BI proficiency.
• Ability to communicate insights to non-financial stakeholders.
• Experience with multi-site organisations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Preparing rolling forecasts, scenario analysis and financial models to support decision-making.
• Monitoring budget performance, investigating variances and identifying risks and opportunities.
• Developing and improving management reporting, dashboards and data visualisation across the network.
• Analysing operational data, including enrolment, attendance and revenue trends, to identify actionable insights.
• Supporting funding strategy, network planning, business cases and investment analysis.
• Partnering with operational stakeholders to improve data quality and reporting accuracy.
• Identifying opportunities to automate reporting, streamline processes and improve the quality of financial information.
• Translating complex analysis into clear recommendations for non-financial stakeholders.

Looking for your next contract opportunity? Secure your income heading into the Christmas period with a varied assignment where you can put your commercial analysis, financial modelling and reporting skills to good use.

We’re working with an organisation seeking an experienced finance professional to provide additional support across forecasting, financial analysis, operational reporting and business decision-making while they plan for a permanent appointment in the new year.

The opportunity

Working closely with senior finance and operational leaders, you’ll turn financial and operational data into meaningful insights that support planning, funding decisions and business performance.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing rolling forecasts, scenario analysis and financial models to support decision-making.
• Monitoring budget performance, investigating variances and identifying risks and opportunities.
• Developing and improving management reporting, dashboards and data visualisation across the network.

What we’re looking for

You’ll be a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys getting into the detail, solving problems and helping stakeholders understand what the numbers mean.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Experience in Commercial Analysis, FP&A, Management Accounting or a similar analytical finance role, at least 5 years.
• Strong financial modelling, forecasting and scenario analysis skills.
• Experience developing management reports and analysing complex datasets.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with reporting and visualisation tools such as Power BI.
• The ability to work confidently with operational stakeholders and communicate insights clearly.
• A proactive approach to improving reporting, processes and data quality.

Experience working with operational data, funding models or multi-site organisations would be advantageous.
