Job summary

New World Wanaka is seeking a Duty Manager to lead a busy retail team on a daily basis. You will manage floor operations, merchandising, stock, and safety standards while ensuring excellent customer service. Experience in fresh foods and SAP is valued, and a liquor licence is preferred or must be obtainable.

You will oversee weekend shifts and report to store leadership. This role offers on-site work with a locally owned store in Wanaka, NZ.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience in a supermarket or busy retail environment.
• Manager’s Certificate (or ability to obtain one) for liquor/licence compliance.
• Strong time management and communication skills.
• Confident in leading and supporting a team.
• Sound problem solving and decision making ability.
• Experience with SAP or similar systems.
• Forklift licence or willingness to obtain one.
• Experience in a fresh food department is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and organise the day to day operation of the retail floor and team.
• Maintain high standards of merchandising and presentation.
• Manage product mix to provide the best range for customers.
• Oversee sale of liquor and tobacco.
• Maintain Health & Safety and Food Safety standards.
• Manage stock levels based on trade patterns.
• Perform store duty management as rostered.
