Job summary

New World Hokitika on the West Coast is seeking two Checkout Supervisors to lead the front-end operation, support the Checkout Manager, and ensure we continue to provide a high level of service to our customers daily.

You’ll need at least 12 months of retail supervisory experience and ideally hold a Manager’s Certificate and LCQ. We will support qualified applicants to obtain the certificates. Weekend work is required, and we offer visa sponsorship for suitable applicants.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months of relevant retail supervisory experience.
• Ability to lead and coordinate a front-end team.
• Experience in customer service and cash handling is essential.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and coordinating the checkout team.
• Providing excellent customer service and handling queries.
• Coordinating checkout coverage, breaks and daily tasks.
• Supporting day-to-day running of the checkout department.
• Training, coaching and supporting team members.
• Ensuring cash handling and age‑restricted sales procedures.
• Monitoring standards, productivity and customer service.
• Assisting with opening and closing responsibilities.
