Job summary

Sands Brewry Bar & Kitchen in Nelson is seeking a full-time Restaurant Manager to lead our front-of-house team, oversee daily operations, staff training, rosters and customer service, and collaborate with kitchen and bar colleagues to deliver an exceptional dining experience.

You will manage budgets, health and safety standards, and uphold the establishment’s standards while mentoring staff to ensure consistently high service across shifts.

Qualifications

• LCQ and General Manager Certificate (Alcohol Act) required or willing to work towards
• Minimum of three years of relevant work experience
• Level 5 or higher qualification in hospitality/hotel management or related field may substitute work experience
• Budgeting and menu costing skills
• Strong organisational and time management abilities
• Extensive knowledge of local and international food & beverage trends
• Wine and food matching knowledge

Responsibilities

• Oversee profitable operation and organisation of the restaurant including front-of-house staff
• Set and manage budgets
• Organise marketing and promotional activities
• Recruit, train and develop front-of-house staff
• Ensure health & safety and service standards are met
• Prepare management reports on sales and profitability
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and licensing authorities
