Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Remote Transportation Compliance Officer to ensure adherence to regulatory standards across operations. This fully remote role requires strong knowledge of South African transport laws and the ability to translate complex regulations into actionable policies from a home office in SA.

You will develop and monitor compliance programs, conduct audits, and liaise with regulatory bodies to maintain high standards of safety and legality in transportation operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation compliance or regulatory affairs within logistics.
• Strong knowledge of applicable transport laws and regulatory frameworks.
• Proven track record in developing and implementing compliance programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to translate regulations into policies.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage responsibilities.
• Proficiency with compliance management software and MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage transportation compliance programs and policies.
• Stay up-to-date with South African transport laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Conduct audits and risk assessments to identify compliance gaps.
• Develop and deliver staff training on transportation compliance.
• Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Liaise with regulatory agencies and authorities on behalf of the company.
• Maintain records of compliance activities, permits, licenses, and certifications.
• Monitor driver records, vehicle safety standards, and procedures for ongoing compliance.
• Advise senior management on compliance risks and mitigation strategies.
• Promote a culture of compliance and safety across the organization.
