Placements24 is seeking a highly proficient Remote Civil Engineer specializing in Structural Design to join its distributed engineering practice. You will perform advanced analyses and develop design calculations for bridges, buildings, and industrial structures from a remote workspace.

Responsibilities include producing drawings, ensuring compliance with SANS/Eurocodes, collaborating with global teams, and reviewing submittals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• A minimum of 8 years of proven experience in structural engineering design and analysis.
• Expertise in structural analysis and design software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, Prokon, STAAD.Pro).
• Deep knowledge of material science, structural mechanics, and relevant design codes (e.g., SANS, Eurocodes).
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a strong capacity for independent, remote work.

Responsabilités

• Conduct complex structural analyses using advanced engineering software for various structural types.
• Design structural elements including foundations, beams, columns, and connections using appropriate materials (steel, concrete, etc.).
• Produce detailed structural drawings, calculations, and technical specifications that meet project requirements and building codes.
• Ensure all structural designs comply with national and international safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate effectively with remote project teams, architects, and construction consultants through virtual communication tools.
• Review contractor submittals and provide remote technical support during the construction phase as needed.
