Job summary

Placements24's client, a consultancy focused on strategic urban development and public sector initiatives, is seeking a Senior Urban Planner to join their team in a fully remote capacity. You will develop comprehensive urban strategies, conduct feasibility studies, and contribute to policy formulation for sustainable community infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Urban/Regional Planning or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in urban/regional planning, with significant public sector or consultancy experience.
• Knowledge of SPLUMA and land use management principles.
• Experience developing policy, spatial planning frameworks, and development guidelines.
• Excellent virtual communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Proficiency in GIS and planning visualization tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement urban and regional planning strategies and policies.
• Conduct spatial analysis, site suitability assessments, and environmental impact studies.
• Prepare planning reports, development frameworks, and land use management schemes.
• Facilitate stakeholder consultations and community engagement processes virtually.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, and environmental scientists.
• Advise government bodies and private developers on planning legislation and development control.
• Research planning best practices and emerging trends in urban development.
• Manage planning projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and objectives.
• Contribute to the development of sustainable urban development solutions.
