Qualifications

• LLB or equivalent qualification.
• Admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 years of post-qualification experience in commercial law and contract drafting/negotiation.
• Proven experience managing complex commercial agreements.
• In-depth knowledge of South African contract law and relevant commercial legislation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts (service, partnership, vendor, licensing).
• Advise business teams on legal implications of strategies and transactions.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks in contracts and operations.
• Ensure all agreements comply with South African legislation and company policies.
• Manage contract lifecycle from initiation to amendments and renewals.
• Conduct legal research on commercial law issues.
