About the Role

Our client, a fast-growing e-commerce enterprise with a global reach, is seeking a meticulous and proactive Remote International Logistics Coordinator to manage and streamline their cross-border shipping operations. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from your home base within South Africa . The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess a solid understanding of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and global logistics networks. You will be responsible for coordinating the movement of goods across international borders, ensuring timely delivery, managing documentation, and optimizing shipping costs. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient supply chains and ensuring customer satisfaction for our client's international clientele. You will play a key role in navigating the complexities of global trade and logistics, contributing directly to the company's expansion into new markets. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring seamless international transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage international shipments from origin to destination, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and commercial invoices.
• Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, shipping lines, and airlines to manage shipment status and resolve issues.
• Track shipments in real-time and provide regular updates to internal teams and customers.
• Ensure compliance with all international trade regulations, customs requirements, and import/export laws.
• Identify and implement strategies to optimize international shipping routes, carriers, and costs.
• Manage relationships with international logistics partners, negotiating rates and service levels.
• Address and resolve any logistical challenges or discrepancies that arise during transit.
• Maintain accurate records of all international shipping activities and expenses.
• Support the development and implementation of new international logistics processes and technologies.

Requirements

Minimum of 4 years of experience in international logistics coordination, freight forwarding, or a related field. Strong knowledge of international shipping procedures, Incoterms, customs regulations, and documentation. Proven experience working with various shipping modes (air, sea, land) and international carriers. Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field is preferred. Excellent organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with global partners. Proficiency in logistics software, ERP systems, and common office productivity tools. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote work environment. Problem-solving skills and the ability to react quickly to changing situations. Must be legally eligible to work remotely from South Africa .
