Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced HR Officer specializing in Employee Relations for a fully remote role based in South Africa. You will manage grievances, investigations, and disciplinary proceedings, ensuring compliance with SA labor laws while advising management on best ER practices.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field with at least four years in HR focused on employee relations and proficient in HRIS and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Law, Industrial Psychology, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in an HR role with a strong focus on employee relations.
• In-depth knowledge of South African labor laws, including the LRA, BCEA, and EEA.
• Proven experience in conducting investigations and managing disciplinary processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage and resolve employee grievances, disputes, and disciplinary issues effectively.
• Conduct investigations into employee complaints and recommend appropriate actions.
• Advise management and employees on HR policies, procedures, and South African labor law.
• Facilitate mediation and conflict resolution between parties.
• Develop and implement strategies to promote a positive and healthy work environment.
• Ensure compliance with the Labour Relations Act (LRA) and other relevant legislation.
• Assist in the review and update of HR policies and employee handbooks.
• Provide training to managers and employees on employee relations best practices.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records related to employee relations matters.
• Contribute to the overall HR strategy in promoting fairness and ethical conduct.
