Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Remote HR Lead to steer global HR operations, with focus on supporting South Africa-based teams and coordinating across multiple time zones.

You will design and implement global HR strategies, lead a dispersed team, oversee talent acquisition, performance, rewards, and compliance, and partner with executives to shape the people agenda in a remote-first, inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• 8–10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing global HR operations, preferably in a remote-first environment.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing global HR strategies and frameworks.
• In-depth knowledge of international employment laws, regulations, and best practices across various regions, including South Africa.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across cultures and time zones.
• Demonstrated ability to build and manage high-performing remote teams.
• Experience with global HRIS, ATS, and other HR technology platforms.
• Proven ability to drive change and manage complex global projects.
• CIPM or equivalent international HR certification is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive global HR strategies that align with the company's international growth objectives and remote-first culture.
• Lead and mentor a geographically dispersed HR team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
• Oversee talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, and compensation & benefits for all global locations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations across all operating countries, adapting policies as needed.
• Drive robust employee engagement initiatives tailored for a remote workforce, fostering connection, belonging, and productivity.
• Develop and implement talent management and succession planning programs to build a strong global leadership pipeline.
• Manage and optimize HR technology platforms (HRIS, ATS, LMS) to support global operations efficiently.
• Act as a strategic advisor to the executive leadership team on all people-related matters, including organizational design and change management.
• Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives across the global organization.
• Oversee HR budgets and resource allocation for international markets.
