Job summary

Placements24 seeks a dedicated Remote Health and Safety Officer to ensure compliance across construction sites in a fully remote role. You will develop, implement, and monitor health and safety programs, conduct risk assessments, investigate incidents, and provide guidance to site teams to foster a robust safety culture.

You will deliver training, maintain documentation, and ensure adherence to Occupational Health and Safety Acts, driving best practices and a zero-harm mindset across operations.

Qualifications

• Must hold an Occupational Health and Safety qualification (NOSA or NEBOSH).
• Minimum of 4 years of Health and Safety Officer experience, ideally within construction.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and standards.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a remote workload.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive health and safety programs aligned with legislation and company policies.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and site safety inspections, identifying hazards and recommending controls.
• Investigate workplace accidents and incidents, prepare reports and implement corrective actions.
• Deliver safety training and awareness programs to employees and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Acts and regulations.
• Maintain safety documentation, records, and certificates, and prepare safety performance reports.
