Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a vigilant and experienced Remote Construction Safety Officer to ensure safe working environments across projects near Queenstown. You will develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive health and safety plans for construction sites, conduct virtual safety audits, and deliver safety training remotely to advise site teams on best practices to minimize risks.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of construction safety management, NOSA/NEBOSH certification, and strong knowledge

Qualifications

Certified safety professional with a valid qualification (NOSA/NEBOSH or equivalent).
Minimum of 4 years in construction health and safety management.
Experience with national/regional safety legislation and auditing practices.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement site-specific health and safety management systems.
Conduct remote safety inspections and risk assessments of construction sites and activities.
Investigate accidents and near misses, report findings and actionable improvements.
Deliver safety training sessions and toolbox talks via online platforms.
Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and standards.
Maintain safety records, documentation, and safety performance metrics.
Advise site management on all matters related to health and safety.
