Job summary

Placements24 is partnering with a leading child welfare agency to recruit a remote Child Protection Social Worker. You will conduct virtual investigations, support children and families, and collaborate with stakeholders to safeguard children’s rights from anywhere in South Africa.

The role requires a BSW, SACSSP registration, at least 4 years’ post-qualification experience in child protection, and strong skills in remote case management, reporting, and trauma-informed practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW) or equivalent.
• Registered with SACSSP.
• Minimum 4 years post-qualification experience in child protection.
• Experience in virtual investigations, risk assessment and case management.
• Excellent virtual communication and report writing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct virtual investigations into child protection concerns.
• Provide remote crisis intervention and support to children and families.
• Develop and implement case management plans for at-risk children.
• Facilitate virtual family meetings with relevant members.
• Collaborate with legal, law enforcement, schools and agencies via digital platforms.
• Prepare reports for court proceedings and reviews.
• Provide counseling and psychosocial support to children and caregivers.
• Advocate for children's best interests within systems.
• Maintain confidential electronic records per policy.
• Attend remote team meetings, case consultations and supervision.
